Lesson Learned

I learned a valuable lesson this week that more expensive doesn't necessarily mean better quality. Case in point, our baby gate fiasco.  Over the past 5 years I have spent $100s of dollars on baby gates.  I tried all different sizes, price ranges and styles but would stay away from the super cheap ones cause in my mind if they are that cheap the would be useless.

Are previous $120.00 baby gate bit the dust within 6 months. Are youngest was at the age a baby gate wasn't as necessary so we just took it off and left the stairs open.  Then the dogs boycotted using the backyard to pee and poo and thought the second floor was a better location. I was desperate for something to block the stairs and went out and bought a cheap gate for under $20.00.  BEST GATE I HAVE EVER USED!!!  It fits the stairs perfectly and though it took me a few hour to figure out (it was operator stupidity and not because it was all that difficult) it is crazy easy to open and close.  Even my 3 year old can easily take if off and put it back on the stairs.

So, in conclusion something doesn't have to be expensive to be efficient.
